Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
At Orange Grove Public School, students build their thinking, communication, and teamwork skills through our successful debating and public speaking programs. They have the opportunity to compete in local events, proudly representing our school.
Creative and performing arts
At Orange Grove Public School, our internal drama, dance, art, choir, and externally run band programs encourage students to be creative and express themselves. They have the opportunity to take part in concerts, art shows, performances, and drama activities, building confidence and showcasing their talents.
Trips and excursions
At Orange Grove Public School, excursions give our students the chance to get out of the classroom to explore, learn, and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence, and see how their learning connects to the world beyond school.
School sport, athletics and PSSA competitions
At Orange Grove Public School, sport is an important part of our students' development, promoting teamwork, resilience, and a healthy lifestyle. We offer a range of physical activities and school sports programs for all students, encouraging participation and personal growth. Our interschool sport teams provide opportunities for students to represent Orange Grove with pride, competing in a variety of sports while building friendships and school spirit.
Lunchtime and interest based clubs
These clubs offer a fun and supportive space for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with others. Whether they're planting in the garden, or building stamina on the track, being a budding journalist, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow in confidence outside the classroom.
"Our experience at Orange Grove Public School over the past 9 years with 2 children has been an exceptional journey. We have found our teachers to be enthusiastic, caring and committed to create classrooms where kids feel safe, are encouraged to learn, collaborate and engage. Our kids always felt supported, listened to and encouraged to learn. The passion for teaching at Orange Grove goes beyond the classrooms and many teachers offering their time and energy to run an array of amazing extracurricular programs—from vocal ensemble and band to debating, enviro club, PSSA, and run club, just to name a few. These programs offer our kids not just more learning opportunities, but a chance to explore new interests, build confidence, and connect with peers." — a parent of Orange Grove Public School
